Mary Winkler is a Digital Filmmaker based in the city of Philadelphia. She enjoys editing, directing, producing and storytelling. Mary is half-Japanese, which has allowed her to appreciate other cultures and traditions when traveling to different countries.
Growing up, Mary was always encouraged to pursue her creative abilities through any form of art. Surrounded by other artistic family members, she was able to experiment and learn different forms of creativity. Connecting with other minds throughout her years has opened her own mind to new experiences. Mary knew early on that she would make a career out of her originality.
Throughout high school, Mary took many fine art classes. Soon, a close friend introduced her to his own work in the film industry. She found lots of inspiration in his talents and success and started playing with a camera. Mary fell in love instantly and enrolled at the Art Institute of Philadelphia to further her education. After attending the Art Institute for two years, Mary has transferred to Temple University and is continuing her education in Film and Media Arts.
Through film, she hopes to raise awareness on various issues in our world and inspire others to make positive changes. Creating videos is a great way to educate, get an opinion heard and to tell a good story.
